Borel Sponsors the Grand Reopening of the Foster City Dog Park

FOSTER CITY, Calif.

The ”Dog Days of Summer” are off and running with the Grand Reopening of the newly remodeled Foster City Dog Park .

Foster City , along with Borel Private Bank & Trust Company of San Mateo , proudly sponsored a celebratory reopening of the Foster City Dog Park on Thursday, April 2. Nearly $150,000 in renovations were made during its month-long closure so, naturally, dog park patrons and their furry, four-legged friends were eager to take a look at the improvements.

One of the more exciting renovations includes the installation of synthetic, grass-like turf, complete with a self-cleaning water system. Such state-of-the-art changes are sure to please any visitor. As Laurie Merrill, of Borel Private Bank & Trust, points out, “This may just be the most frequently visited dog park in the county.”

Kevin Miller, Director of Foster City Parks and Recreation, emceed the afternoon's festivities, which involved a ribbon cutting by Foster City Mayor John Kiramis and refreshments, provided by Borel, for loyal dog park patrons and their pets. Borel Private Bank also held a PetCo gift card drawing and even gave away frisbees to some lucky pooches and their owners.

“It's exciting,” says Wally Rowland, a long-time dog park patron and owner of three Pekingese dogs.  Borel Banker, Foster City Rotarian and fellow dog-lover, Chris Glud, agrees, congratulating the Parks and Recreation Department on their completion of the very successful project.

Vice Mayor Rich Wykoff, City Manager James Hardy, City Council Members Linda Koelling and Pam Frisella, and Foster City Chamber of Commerce CEO Mae Heagerty-Matos were also in attendance.
